Participation of SEAFDEC/IFRDMD in a Workshop ”Statistics of Tropical Anguillid Eel in Southeast Asia” and “Aquaculture of Tropical Angullid Eel in Southeast Asia”

Four representatives from the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC)/Inland Fisheries Resources Development and Management Department (IFRDMD), Dr. Arif Wibowo (Chief dan Head of Research Institute for Inland Fisheries and Fisheries Extension), Dr. Takuro Shibuno (Deputy Chief), Mrs. Ni Komang Suryati (Head of the Biology Research and Development Unit and Taxonomy dan Researcher of RIIFE), and Ms. Melfa Marini the researcher of RIIFE) ) participated in the Workshop ”Statistics of Tropical Anguillid Eel in Southeast Asia” and  “Aquaculture of Tropical Angullid Eel in Southeast Asia” which took place on 23-25 April 2019 at the Crimson Hotel Alabang, Metro Manila, Philippines. The Workshop was held by SEAFDEC/Secretariat regarding the results of the tropical eel research that have  been carried out. The forum also Some information about tropical eel were presented by the competent researchers in the forum. The results of the workshop,which was attended by 30 participants, can be used as the material for preparing the final report. In addition, the results of this workshop will be used as the  material to consider  the continuation of the program (JAIF phase 2). Furthermore, scientific publications are expected to be the output of the program.
