Four of IFRDMD’s researchers (Dr. Safran Makmur, Ms. Sevi Sawestri, Ms. Ni Komang Suryati and Dr. Dina Muthmainnah) participated in the Training on Fisheries Database Management and Data Analysis in Hanoi, Viet Nam, on 26-28 February 2018. The objective of this training is to understand the basic needs for conducting fisheries surveys, methods of storage and extraction of data, how to analyze data using basic and multivariate analysis techniques and provide advice of interpretation and reporting.
The resource persons were Prof. Ian G. Cowx (Hull University, England) and Mr. Peng Ngorby (MRC). The participants came from National Environmental Division staffs of Thailand, Viet Nam, Lao PDR,
Cambodia and SEAFDEC/IFRDMD researchers. The participants practiced the analyzed, interpreted and reported the national databases on capture fisheries monitoring, i.e., fish abundance and diversity by using the software PRIMER.#dina_mth
