On December 15 to 17, 2022, SEAFDEC/IFRDMD held an agenda entitled Consolidation of the 2023 of SEAFDEC/IFRDMD Performance Plan in South Lampung, Indonesia. The Meeting was attended by Chief of IFRDMD, Deputy Chief of IFRDMD, Acting Head of Research Institute for Inland Fisheries and Extension, and 14 staff of IFRDMD. The meeting was performed in a comfortable atmosphere to explore the potential of those in charge on how to achieve the objectives and develop what the strategy is for 2023.
At this meeting, presentations for 2023 were delivered by the IFRDMD secretariat (Head of Administration and Finance, Finance staff, and Head of Technical Services) as well as the project leaders. The activity under the Japan Trust Fund VI Phase 2 with title: Management scheme of inland fisheries in the Southeast Asian region; and Sustainable Utilization of Anguillid Eels in the Southeast Asia Region will be conducted. Besides, there will be two projects under the JAIF budget entitled Regional Collaborative Research and Capacity Building for Monitoring and Reduction of Marine Debris from Fisheries in Southeast Asia (for the freshwater fish) ;and Development of Stock Assessment Methods and Strengthening of Resources Management Measures for Tropical Anguillid Eel in Southeast Asia. The program from Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries with title Smart Fisheries Village was introduced as well.
In addition, the Special Departmental Coordinator shared the report from the SEAFDEC Meeting, requested the coordinators of each project for follow-up activity, and asked head of sections to propose strategies to establish mechanisms within IFRDMD.
After one and half day meeting with full of discussions, IFRDMD also organized an outbound activity to build togetherness among staff. The outbound was conducted at Cemara Beach, South Lampung, as a training method for human resource development, which has been proven to have a positive impact on teamwork building.
