Inland Fishery Resource and Development Management Department (IFRDMD) continued its eel catch sampling survey in the Poso River from August 2 to 7, 2024. The activities were water quality measurements, deploying fishing gear, and interviewing local fishers regarding the current status of eel fisheries. Ms. Parinthon, a representative from the SEAFDEC Secretariat for the JAIF project, also participated in the monitoring and evaluation of the activities. In addition to the survey in Poso, the team expanded their efforts to gather information on eel fisheries in other regions of Central Sulawesi.

The eels are processed into various fish products such as kabayaki and fish balls. Notably, CV Banua Sidat is the first company producing the eel fish balls in Indonesia.
